L.M. Montgomery

L.M. Montgomery (1874–1942) was a Canadian author who gained worldwide acclaim with Anne of Green Gables (1908), the story of the imaginative orphan Anne Shirley. The novel was an immediate success and was followed by several sequels. Montgomery’s writing was deeply inspired by her childhood on Prince Edward Island and is known for its vivid descriptions of nature, gentle humour, and sensitive portrayals of everyday life. In addition to the Anne books, she wrote numerous novels, short stories, and poems.
